Capturing the Chimera is made up of Sofia and Bryony, your friendly neighbourhood bibliophiles, provide bespoke educations experiences which focus on their respective areas of interest and expertise, creative writing and photography.

We aim to provide a creative educational space where the participants of our events and workshops can experience interesting and innovative ways of learning.
Focusing on photography and creative writing, the underlying goal of our workshops is to show that these two disciplines can inform and support each other so that any practitioner of either subject may develop their own creative practice beyond conventional borders and limiting labels.

We host a number of workshops from a creative photography and writing introduction to a number of workshops based around specific literary and photographic themes. Workshops vary in price and length from a single day to 6 week progressive workshops aimed at helping to develop and support your creative practice.

We also work with schools, colleges and universities to bring our workshops into educational institutions embedding creative practice into core subjects in our aim to break down limiting perceptions of different practices.

"I have attended a couple of Capturing the Chimera’s workshops and hope to attend many more. The array of creative activities and the familiar atmosphere make them an unmissable experience. Bryony and Sofia are passionate facilitators and their knowledge and attitude make the workshops not only stimulating but also great fun!"
