Sofia Smith

Throughout her studies her motivation was always to be informed by her personal research, and this is an aspect of her work which is still critical to her writing process and her approach to new commissions and projects.

She has worked closely with The Miniclick Press as part of the editing team, and also produced several creative commissions for publication. The experience of working creatively to a brief and deadline she gained working with Miniclick has been instrumental in the development of a new way of looking at her own work, which Sofia is sure heralded a more mature and confident output.

Furthermore, working with photographers, and others from different creative backgrounds, Sofia has learned that the imaginative process, whether to produce a photograph, a drawing, a poem or a non-fiction piece, doesn’t happen in a vacuum. She has since cultivated several collaborative working relationships, which she hopes will prove fruitful for all involved. Sofia’s portfolio is varied; including copy writing for architects, poems and research material.

Bryony Good

Growing up surrounded by the desolate beauty of the Yorkshire landscape Bryony developed her work to explore the romanticised nostalgia landscapes can evoke.

Her photography explores photographic language and process, often referencing nostalgia towards photographic practice itself. Experiemental processes and innovative mixed media are integeral to her work and often produce interesting visual effects.

As a writer she has published a number of short stories that mimic her obsession with the land and nostalgia, often harnessing dark undertones of longing and escape.

Now working within arts education and a collaborative member of Miniclick Photography Talks, Bryony aims to widen participation within the arts whilst further exploring photographic practice.

Each workshop has it’s own theme / approach however we try to engage these basic elements in each one.
We have created a number of workshops that explore our interests and educational backgrounds, alongside those that have been created in collaborations with different festivals and events and for specific learning outcomes.
